DS got a TWE in the mail today stating that he was academically qualified and was on Hold and on the waiting list. What does that mean? Bad?

It basically means your DS is on the waiting list. I was on hold last year.
When did you hear that you were appointed and off the wait list? Thanks for the reply!

I was rejected last year. Got the TWE in late May or early June. I reapplied this year and got in a week after my application was complete.

Update - I GOT THE PACKAGE!!!!!
Came in with FedEx yesterday
First thing came to my mind was - I will not be tortured my first year in The Citadel (I got in prior with full NROTC scholarship)...
BTW the status online still showing "Hold"

See, this gives me hope, lol. I swear I check my app portal every 10 minutes to see if my hold status changes.

CONGRATULATIONS DanD and mariner-pilot! Great News! and Welcome Aboard. Hang on tight, the ride is unpredictable, but there is nothing like it.

Yep, still showing "Hold", I would call the admissions if I were you, maybe its on the way? Or at least ask them if there is anything else you can do right now to get an appointment...

Has anyone had any updates on admission decisions? My son sent in his 7 semester grades weeks ago, and it still shows that it's not updated, and it remains on "Hold" status. Anyone experiencing the same?

I would call admissions about the grades still being absent from the file.

I emailed my 7th semester grades, in addition to mailing them, they appeared in my status an hour after I emailed them to my admission officer. I would email and call to make sure that they got it. My status remained "Hold" a week after I got the appointment.

Thank you DanD and Mariner-Pilot! We did get through, and the transcript request had not included the most recent grades (months delay reflecting 7th semester in main district office apparently). They have them now. Now we wait.

My son received a(n) LOA for the USMMA class of 2019 contingent upon a medical waiver. Does anyone know how long it might take for the remedials to be reviewed? Any other insight about the medical review process is appreciated.

I had a remedial due to finger surgery I had in November. I completed my medical exam and eye exam around January 23rd and DODMERB reviewed it and requested remedial paperwork by January 28th. I faxed the paperwork over on the 29th and they reviewed all the remedial paperwork on the 30th. I was cleared by DODMERB by February 2nd. Needless to say, they were super quick, but I was also very cautious and vigilant. I was constantly checking the DODMERB portal because I knew I was going to get a remedial. The minute the portal showed that I needed to send paperwork proving that I'm good for full range of motion, I faxed it and emailed DODMERB stating that I faxed it over, that way I got both ends covered.

UPDATE:

I spoke to the admissions officer in charge of my region and she stated that everyone who is 3Q'd gets one evaluation and then their file can be updated with any new information that comes in later (Higher SAT/ACT scores and such). Most candidates on "Hold" will not know if they have received an appointment until April. So I'm just HOPING it comes in sooner!

Getting a medical waiver is a huge deal- sometimes it can take up to 6 months or so to go through that process. It is imperitive that you speak with someone who can guide you- making sure you have dotted all of your i's and crossed all your t's so to speak. Can you send me a private message with your contact info and I can direct you to someone that can possibly assist you with making sure everything that needs to be done has been done?

Hello for the first time, SAF,

I'm an applicant to USMMA for the class of 2019, and am eagerly awaiting some response from the admission's office. To my knowledge, my application (which included nom., passed CFA, all documents, etc) was reviewed sometime during the week of February 9th, as the Academy did inform me my application was complete and was up for review. My question is, when can I expext to hear back from the office? I understand that the office is under-manned and are at the apex of their work-season, but is there a reasonable time frame for me to expect a response? As always, thanks for (all of) your responses, and thank you to all Kings Pointer's, past and present.

Respectfully,
SpeckledTrout

SpeckledTrout- My DS found out in Mid November (meaning he already had the nominations, got the acceptance).
The following year the kids from our state heard in March. It changes year to year, state to state. I know a definite date would be "better" but the reality is that it changes year to year/ state to state.
Best of luck to you! :)

:groupwave: Congratulations and Welcome to the KP family!!

What STATE are you from?????

:welcome1:
