You need to contact Larry Mullen, Dep'y Director of DODMERB. He's VERY available here.

Go to the DODMERB section, read his message, and then send him your question, information, etc. He is VERY VERY good at getting back to folks; usually within 24 hours (in my case it was like 24 minutes, and he called me).

I will say this: from my understanding, loss of a kidney is a DQ item for DODMERB however...I am NOT a DODMERB expert!

You MUST go to Mr. Mullen.

Good luck!

thanks. i sent him an email and waiting anxiously for his response. I know there has to be away around my problem. i understand i will be DQ probably, but i feel it could be waivered. i havnt had a single problem with it in 18 years and urologist tell me im fine to do anything so im hoping for the best. I guess if i cant do ROTC, then i could always do National guard.

So my next question is can you do rotc through national guard and not have to go through dodmerg, even if i did the three year scholarship would i have to go through dodmerg to get my scholarship?

No matter which way you go about it in order to be commissioned in any service you will need to meet Commissioning Standards.

My experience would lead me to believe that you will not be able to obtain a waiver for this; however, the only true person who can give you a "best answer" would be Larry Mullen.

ROTCatUC - If U sent me an email, I will reply before 6 PM MST tomorrow. I'm a little backed up this week due to travel and power outages at DoDMERB:thumb:
