Another thread made me think about this story.

It was written by a former cadet, a member of the Class of 2012.

BTW - this former cadet graduated in May, and is now an USCG Ensign assigned to Flight Training in Pensacola.

It is rarely ever just one poor decision that leads to someone getting in serious trouble. Generally they develop a pattern of risky behavior that doesn't get them in trouble most of the time but ends up biting them in the butt on one occasion. Guessing from the punishment and the fact that it happened over the summer this was probably alcohol related and I seriously doubt this event happened on the first night they drank too much.

Just food for thought. Some people are unlucky and get hammered the first time they do something but most have been risking it for a while.
