I'll be in Michie Stadium watching my son graduate! Each year went by more quickly then the last so parents enjoy every minute, attend as many events as you can, and be active in your local parents club.

It's been a long haul: application process, medical waiver, NWL, civil prep year at NMMI, and 47 months at USMA. I'm so proud of him for pursuing what he wanted, sticking with it, and succeeding. I can't wait to see how his career unfolds. :thumb:

One last intersessional leave. She had plans that we should see Yosemite and do a bunch of other stuff while she was home. So far the couch, watching TV and a couple of shopping trips and a bunch of naps are the highlights. Key is she is having fun and doing what she wants, which is resting for the next phase which will be TBS. Tuesday she flys back to the yard. Friday we follow to start setting up our rented grad house over the weekend for commisioning week. It's been fast 4 years for us as well.

    CONGRATS!
What an exciting time for y'all!
I can't believe that 2 years has passed already for us. It really does fly!

WAMom68 - With all of the traffic on parent-forum about graduation (I hope you have all the overflow tickets you need!), I feel the excitement and anticipation!
Will be watching the ceremony on TV!
    Have a great trip!

Thanks for the good wishes and Congratulations to all the other 2011 parents here on SAF!

Buff81 - I got lucky with the overflow tickets. Called the WP club on April 28th and had no trouble getting the 4 tickets I needed. I guess it is a good lesson to remember when it is your turn. Start calling early and call every day if you have to. How exciting that your son is halfway through - lots of good stuff to come!

Wish we were close enough to do Yosemite on a somewhat regular basis. Absolutely one of my favorite places. Duask walk out over Sentinel Bridge and around over Stoneman. Well hopefully a Cal duty station and I can run off to The Lodge. First visit with daughter: "Dad lets climb the Yosemite Fall's Trail". "No way". "But dad it is something you may only do once in your lifetime". "you only die once in your lifetime and it isn't going to be today for me". We rented bikes and rode the valley.

    My dear friend,
I can't believe it has been well over 5 years since we *met* first on the West Point prospective forum and then on CC and both came over here at the start of this forum and finally meeting for *real* camping up at West Point back in '08.
You in Washington and me in PA - the space between us is wide but the friendship remains tight.

You are so right - the years go by faster and faster. Some days are bright and sunny and some are dark and stormy - but time marches on and the kids have kept moving forward toward a common goal.

Have a fantastic week with the knowledge that you should be so proud for raising a bright, honorable and patriotic son. Our Nation is grateful to have your son wish to serve honorably.

    XOXO
    JAM

I would also like to add my congratulations to a cadet from West Point also. His initials are BT from Harrisburg, PA he attended Central Dauphin East High School where he graduated from in 2007. He was quite a young man then and is a better one today, because of what he has accomplished.
