Orthodontics Remedial

I have a question about the remedial form that we presented to our orthodontist. According to him, my son will be in braces for about 3 more months. So what happens next as far as DoDMeRB is concerned? Is his whole application put on hold until the braces come off? If the doctor gave a definitive timeframe, will be be granted a waiver for this or not since it seems so minor? This is the only thing on his DoDMeRB exam that's holding us back.

Because this lingo is all new to me, I am confused. I am not even sure if I am using the word "remedial" and "waiver" in the right context. Thanks
