Overnight, and shuttle from airport?

Hi everyone, I'm planning to do an overnight stay in the coming weeks and I have a quick question about transportation.

I live in Michigan and am planning to take a plane solo, but to which airport is my question. Would La Guardia or Newark be better (or are there other airports?)?

Also, is there shuttle transportation from either of the two airports to West Point and transportation back?

Thank you!

Newburgh/Stewart (SWF) is actually the closest, then White Plains (HPN), then Newark (EWR) or Laguardia (LGA). Check all four -- one may be cheaper; one may or may not be direct/connecting from your airport in Michigan.

When my DS went to SLE, he had to fly to Newark to be met by cadets/bus going to WP. If you're not being met at the airport, it might be easier to do the closer airports if available. Otherwise, they should all have a shuttle service available. Google the airport for ground transportation. You can make a reservation in advance, sometimes prepay or pay on arrival.

I f you fly into Newark, it's pretty easy to ride the train into the city, then ride metro north up to garrison. From there, it'll be about $30 for a cab by yourself.

If you fly into stewart, you can get a cab to west point, but I don't know how much it will cost you.

If you are flying out of Detroit, you should be able to fly into Stewart...that's your best bet. It's a 20 min (or less) cab ride. There's a desk just by baggage claim that will call a cab for you.
