Overnight Visit Questions

I recently received a LOE authorizing me for an overnight visit.

Some questions:
When is a good time to visit? I heard before Thanksgiving from many.
What airport do most people fly in to? Are there buses going from the airport to West Point?

Also, my parents are wondering if anyone has any recommendations on what they should do while there for two days.

If you can find a cheap fare, both Stewart Airport (SWF) in Newburgh and While Plains Airport (HPN) are an easy drive to West Point. Newburgh's cab fare to WP is about $30 if they don't rent a car. If you are flying into LaGuardia or Newark, you can take a shuttle bus to Grand Central (google nyc airport shuttle) for $12-15 each way, and take the metro north Hudson Line train to either Peekskill or Garrison train stations and then get a cab to West Point.

During the day of the visit, your parents can take the morning tour, have lunch at Grant Hall, and then explore the public areas of West Point - including the chapels, the library, the cemetery (a walk through American History) and enjoy the views of the Hudson. If they rent a car, they can drive to Cold Spring across the river. If you are planning to go before Thanksgiving, the sooner the better. Otherwise, you may want to wait till late Jan/Feb. to avoid finals, and the beginning of the new semester.
