No more slots at Foundation Schools

There were no more slots at the Foundation.

I am not sure where you got this information, but that is hard to believe. Yes, many of the Foundation schools only take a certain number of students, but there are a few or at least one that does not have a limit. If they offered you a foundation scholarship, they will contact you and give you some choices. Two years ago my daughter was kept on the waiting list until the Friday before I Day before she was told there would not be an appointment available for her with the class of 2011. (So I do have sympathy for those who are still waiting, but you have a long way to go before it is over.) Anyway, she was offered a Foundation Scholarship and there were a number of schools available. I remember it was not the complete list, but she had at least 7or 8 choices. I also know there were at least 4 other student's offered foundation scholarships at that same time. Two were lacrosse player's who had ruptured ACLs late in the season and the other person I do not know about.

There are always choices.

Still waiting...

I called the USNA today, asking the status. It was "no decision yet." I asked, "Does this mean I'm on a waiting list?" The answer was, "No decision has been made." What does this mean? I guess the good news is that I haven't been rejected yet. The other good news is that I just got word today that I am getting a Marine ROTC scholarship!

Im going crazy here!!!!!!! I know there are so many in the same situation as I am, is there anything that i can do to help ease the pressure?

Like Jesus.. the admissions board works in mysterious ways.

Son in same situation. Waiting for medical waiver to go through (passed remedial tests 2 weeks ago). Has NROTC offer in hand (also waiting on med waiver) but still dreaming of USNA.

it means that they haven't made a decision yet. You're good enough that they dont want to reject you, so right now you're competing against other candidates in your same situation for an appointment Navy takes a long time cause they want to make sure they have the best candidates they can get, so they wait for waivers to come through and such

to theraven,

Thank you for that piece of information. I read something very similar last night, and it keeps us hoping for an offer!

I'm 3-Q'd with 3 nomination sources now, but my BGO received word from the Academy back in November that they wanted my semester grades. After I sent the grades they qualified me academically, but with the "Extremely competitive cycle" of this class, I'm extremely worried about my chances. My BGO talked with the regional admissions officer and got the canned answer "April 15th," so no luck with the route some seem to be taking and finding out before the letter.

However I have NROTC to University of South Carolina and it's getting harder and harder to put off dreaming of Columbia when Annapolis looms over me. It's killing me slowly I fear. :frown:

Go Navy! Go Gamecocks!

Keep the faith. As of earlier this week there were still 400-500 appointments to be offered.

Columbia, SC, is gorgeous this time of year. Azaleas blooming, frisbees on the Horseshoe, students in shorts. One of my former JROTC students was class of 2005/6 at USC Navy ROTC (their Battalion CO) and is now in the pilot training pipeline to fly jets.

I loved USC, but my experience is somewhat (very) dated.

I live about an hour away so I've been loving it for many years now!
It's an excellent opportunity, and I'm greatly looking forward to it if I'm not one of the 400-500 :thumb:
