When would the best time for parents to send cadets packages? From my understanding, packages are held until after basic, but will the Cadre still single out a basic if they have a package waiting for them? My parents are wanting to send my packages a little before A-Day so I will have my school supplies before we start classes that following Thursday. Is this a good or bad idea? Any tips or thoughts?

My guess is to put a note on the package that says "Hold Until After A-Day" or find out exactly how long it will take to get to you, and send it a couple days before A-Day. It all depends on the shipper (UPS, USPS).

Early and often. Just have them send the package a week or so before A-day. And, from my recollection, if the post office holds packages for basics, cadre won't go digging to find out who received a package. But, make sure your girlfriend sends you lots of love letters with hearts and smelly stuff on them.

You will have plenty of time to go to the cadet store to buy all you'll need there. No reason for mom and dad to send pencils and your favorite book covers.
