My son received a nomination but no appointment (yet?). WP sent an email today inviting us to visit WP, all expenses paid, where son could experience "all that West Point has to offer." Was not aware that WP offered paid visits. Unusual? And it is an encouraging sign that WP is interested, yes?

Very good sign. Is your son a minority? I have heard of USMA paying for visits for minority recruitment purposes.

This is also done for "blue chip" recruited athletes. Unless things have changed, only the cost for the CC is covered--not the parent.

    Parent Cost

"NORMAN" can probably answer, but I did see somewhere on here that one parent is sometimes covered.
