So, I applied last year. got wait-listed. then rejected :(
and now i'm applying again and all of the forms are already intact and have the green check mark from last year (besides stuff like the CFA) , but a couple of the things on my candidate portal like the CAR and the academic information form are listed as pending. I figured the green check mark would come about eventually, but it's been a while and it's still "pending". Do I need to resend the CAR/academic info forms again (which would be a major hassle since that means I have to talk to my hs guidance counselor a month into summer vacation) or can i safely assume that the forms will go from pending to checked? I know this seems like a lame question, but I figure that I can't be overly meticulous about stuff like this, especially not this year!

Also, I have heard that the DoDmerb exam is good for two years. Is this true?

Thanks in advance, and Happy 4th of July everyone!

Do you still need to seek nomination for this year?

Do not wait for an icon to turn green. If it is pending they are waiting for information. Phone your Admission Office contact and ask them what to do. I expect they will tell you to resubmit the information.

I don't know about you, but I've been talking to my HS counselor ever since I've graduated a few weeks ago, even a month into summer vacation. If you had to resend your SOE's again, then yes, I could see that being a hassle, as many of the teachers have probably left for summer vacation. However, my counselor's here all summer (don't know how he does it, but he does) so I was able to get him to sign my CAR and send my transcript (except that stuff is still pending...). Only thing I have left now is to complete the CFA, get nominations, and wait for my transcript status to turn into a green checkmark. Then I can worry about earning good grades in college next year.

Your DoD exam is good for 2 years. You will be sent a form asking if there has been any change to your medical history, injuries, etc.
My son was a reapp--he had to reapply but all of his letters of recommendation carried over for usma. He did revisions on his essays too. Your liaison officer should be able to help you as can admissions.
You will have to reapply for your nominations--each state is different. My son wrote a letter to his congressman and to both senators letting them (or rather their office) know of his intention to reapply. He also phoned each office informing them of the above. Call and write (that way you leave a paper trail) In my son's case, he did not have to submit new letters of recommendation to his senators/rep. they carried them over.
Hope this helps--good luck
