I recently received notification that I won a NROTC scholarship to penn state! My question now is what do do about housing... Penn state offers tri rotc housing where all of the rotc students can room. I just can't find anything besides very basic information about it on the website. How exactly is it different from regular housing other than having all rotc students? Thanks.

I would contact the housing folks and ask them for further info about it. The college i'm looking at has a similar housing situation - there's nothing different about it besides everyone in the hall gets to get up at the same time (early in the morning) and its closer to the main rotc building and rec center

mraabe,

First, let me say congratulations. Actually, you should contact the ROTC program in which your scholarship was awarded, then call housing. If my memory serves me correctly. There is special housing for Tri-ROTC, but what is called a Special Living Option (SLO), as well. They just built two new dorms in south halls, this past year. Please don't let rumors, that you may hear about housing concern you. My DS graduated from there and never ever had a problem securing a room on campus. As a matter of fact he lived in McElwain Hall for three years. Thanks for for willingness to serve our great country. If you need any additional help let me know, glad to help.

God Bless and God Speed,

RGK
