I am a junior, I have just recently discovered the USMMA. Is there anyone else from the NW applying?
 
We are from Olympia. My son is a third class midshipman at USMMA and is currently on his first sea year, in Japan this month and Europe next month. Kings Point is a pretty closely guarded secret in the Pacific Northwest. Our senators in Washington had 21 applications where KP was either the first or second choice this year which is an increase over recent years. My son is very happy there and there are tremendous opportunities. I understand that there is a new alumni group starting up in Oregon. The Chapter President is Dane Jones, Class of '95. Kings Pointers in Oregon

There is a family in Gresham who have a son in the class of 2013 and a son who just graduated. My son, a graduate lives in Portland. He graduated from KP and was the engineer on the Kings Pointer for a few years. If you have any questions they all would be very happy to answer any. Please contact me if this would be of help. I also know there are students from Oregon at the campus but I will have to check.

I would love to talk to your son about the Academy. Let him know I would appreciate any advice he could offer!
