Perfect SAT Score

My stats as I remember them:

SAT superscore: 800 math, 720 reading, 720 writing
ACT: 33 composite
Class rank: 1/~30
Sports: Cross country, basketball, softball, track (captain for 1-2 seasons each)
Other: Community service (~300 hours), placed in national science research essay competition, National Merit Finalist, part-time bookkeeping job

Thanks for posting your stats lotrjedi13! You sounded like you were super competitive during admissions

Any other cadets care to post? I want to try and get an idea of what some people did to get in compared to others.

I'm not a cadet, but I did get in last year...and turned it down and am now reapplying.

35 ACT
1/148
4 years varsity soccer (MVP, captain, 1st-Team All-League, sportsmanship award, league championship)
1 year varsity track
1 year varsity XC
NHS
150 hours community service (mainly as a camp counselor and hospital volunteer)
various academic awards

I was wondering: Standardized Scores are superscored, right? But, does it look bad if one sends in an improved score on one matter, but a decreased one on another?

Bill, they don't care how many times you take the exams or if your score goes up in one section and down on another. A perfect score on all sections should be your goal. Keep practicing and take as many exams as you can. Also try both the ACT and SAT as different students perform very differently on the two exams. However, note that they will not superscore one section from the ACT with a section from the SAT.

Entrance Requirements

In short, West Point is looking for the well-rounded person - scholorship, leadership and athletic ability.
A max SAT is no good by itself. Being an All-state athelic is no good by itself - -Being Class President is no good by itself.
A strong candidate is a good student - good athelic - good leader

SAT Math 710, 680
class rank 50% at boarding school
11 varsity letters, 2 years wrestling captain, 3 year wrestling state finalist
