Wow, too exciting! I just decided to check my CIS and there it was...the online Permit to Report packet. I was soooo excited. Lots of stuff to fill out and get done, but I cannot wait to get going on it; check it out if you haven't seen it yet. If you accepted the Appointment, it should be on your CIS. See y'all on I-day. I just know the Class of 2013 will be one of the best in a very long time.
ANCHORS AWEIGH, Semper Fidelis, and 'Git er dun' !

I just checked my CIS and it was there too but the one form I looked at (the immunization form) was from last year since it used I-Day 2008. I didn't really have time to check out the rest of the package but I would be careful because they may have posted last year's package by mistake and there might be some changes to this year's.

Congratulations to all who made it:thumb: and only 62 more days until I-Day:biggrin:

I tried to access it and got an ERROR - Forbidden message... what's up with that????

Sorry for the double post...

is anyone else having trouble accessing the PTR from the CIS?

I am getting the same thing as well. Though I am able to access the sponsor program.

I was able to get into the sponsor program as well. I tried to call CGO but I was about 5 minutes too late. I will try again tomorrow.

Thanks USNAhopeful24!

Sorry again for another double post...

I just talked to admissions and they said they are in the process of converting the PTR packets to digital, so they will not be online until next week... which seems odd that some of you were able to get on and view them. Sounds like my paper copy might beat the online copy. So much for trying to get a jump on things!

SEMPER GUMBY!! :yllol:

Son received his Permission to Report packet in the mail yesterday.....very thick and lots of forms to complete!!! Wow!! Also, must be completed by May 15.

May 15

The package hasn't arrived here on the West coast yet, and I have really no idea what kind of paperwork is involved. I assume that doctor visits can be scheduled after May 15?

My son's PTR came today. It looks like an enourmous amout of stuff to fill out. Considering he has 6 AP exams to prepare for, I think he will be getting use to doing more with less free time and sleep well before 7/1.

I don't think this is a good time to play the "let him do it himself and learn" card. I believe us parent need to be very interactive and involved in this process. There is no margin for learning error here.

PTR is here!

Checked our soggy mailbox...had been having "mailbox checking withdrawal symptoms"...and...PTR is here! It is sure fat! When DS gets home, we will go through it together...
Graduation announcements arrived also and we need to get those out, fun fun fun! That plus end of school stuff...wow...time is going FAST!!!:thumb:

In CA too.

Btw, has anybody noticed that on the immunisation sheet the Mids are called cadets? Gotta love that military precision

Permit to Report Package arrived today here in Northern California - report time is 6:30am!

Hey NavySupporter, us too!!

So if they report at 0630, and the processing takes about 3 hours, what are they going to do from 0930 until 1800 when they swear the oath? Can they rejoin family and tour the yard? Do they get sequestered?

Oh, they are so sequestered.

Your family will be plebe-free 'til shortly before Oath time, when you'll have 30 - 45 minutes w/ a freshly shorn son or daughter wearing a crazy white sailor suit and a dazed expression. S/he will have been very busy while you were touring the Yard.

looking through all the paperwork I have yet to find a midshipman number for him. IIRC I was told it would be in the packet. I was hoping to create some self-addressed letters for family to have to send over the summer...any ideas where it might be found?

Also, we have never been to the area, what all is there to do for umpteen hours? We understand that the possibility of seeing our freshly shorn(heehee - I like that!) Mid before Oath time is slim...

You will see your new plebe after swearing in. Last year, we had 30 mins. Be sure to have something to eat and drink for them.

My mistake -- 2012 Mom is right: you'll see your plebe after the Oath.

In addition to something to eat and drink, it's a good idea to borrow a hand towel from your hotel for your Mid to sit on. S/he doesn't want to return to the cadre w/ grass stains on Day #1.
