Are other appointees planning to get personal property insurance as recommended in the packet? NSSI has a plan that seems reasonable but just wondering what others are thinking/doing or have done.
The plan I'm looking at...NSSI Student Personal Property Plan® with Accidental Damage $72 annual fee for $2000 coverage $25 deductible. Higher coverage amounts/deductibles available.

USAA will offer Cadets personal insurance when they are issued their laptops at the end of BCT. They don't really have anything to insure other than ABUs and boots until then. It is pretty inexpensive. DS has a Renters Insurance policy with USAA which covers his electronics and and other personal property.

Thanks Blackbird! I didn't really know what would need to be insured but wanted to make sure I completed all recommended items! Thankful for this forum and its members to guide us on what is actually necessary! Thanks again

I got the USAA insurance policy when I went through BCT a couple of years ago (will be working it this year, weird....). I pay $40 a year and it covers my laptop and other issued items. If my laptop breaks for any reason, as has happened to many of my friends, I pay a $40 deductible and get a new one. The paperwork was given out when we got our computers at the end of BCT, very easy to fill out and USAFA will send it to USAA for you. Highly reccomended.

Great information - thanks! Will have DS sign up for that when offered.
