PFE scores question

I'm set to take the test next week. My push-ups and 1.5 mile are on track right now, they have been naturally improved by hockey season, but my sit-ups look very low and i'm on pace for something in the 180-190 range. I think my academics and extracurriculars I'm fairly confident about (3.71 GPA uw, 4.19 w, 2320 combined SAT, 33 ACT, captain of two varsity sports) so will that be enough to make up for a PFE that is below average? I'm going to take the test as many times as I can until February in hopes of getting to 200 or above.

And thank you

hey, it sounds like you're doing a great job! Just work on your sit ups every night (build up your amount of reps each week) and you'll be fine...I scored a 200 on the PFE and was accepted into the Academy...hope to see you there this June! :thumb:

I'm especially interested in your application as we have similar stats (GPA: 3.754 uw, 4.402 w, 32 ACT, captain of a varsity sport). However, my PFE is currently 274. To improve your sit-ups, I would:

- Do core work-outs every other day.
- I usually do core in a circuit (Planks, Leg lifts, Rowers, Supermans, Heels to Heaven, etc. Thats just a sampling)
- On all days (if possible) you should try to get in some cardio. This could be as simple as running 2-4 miles.
- On the days you don't do abs, you should probably do arms. I usually do pull-ups, pushups, bicep curls, and tricep extensions.

Good luck! I hope we both get in.

Thank you both! (hopefully future classmates):thumb: the workout tips especially appreciated!

Good luck to you too!

PFE/CFA

Would it be a good idea to send CFA from USNA SS to the CGA even though they are different test. My daughter said she did better on the CFAs. She also plans on submitting PFE again before the deadline.
Does admission only look at your best test:like the SATs/ACTs.
Thanks

Ladder,

I sent in son's Westpoint CFA for validation. He is homeschooled and I was the one doing his PFE for him. So I thought it a good idea to send it in to back-up his PFE score. However, the Westpoint guy made my son run 1.5 miles, and he wrote it as a 1 mile time. :frown: But we really haven't mentioned it because he went to AIM, and they also did a PFE there. So I know CG knows how fast he can run. -officer
