During the Army ROTC scholarship application, is there any weight applied to passing the APFT over testing with the PFT that most candidates do? A quick question that I couldn't find any answers to anywhere! Thank you!

Yep, but maybe not like you think.

The APFT won't factor into your scores for the National Scholarship application but......

Say you contact your #1 choice school/battalion to schedule your interview and visit. You ask if you can do an APFT while you are there, some will do this, my son's school did. Now, you crank out a 275 score, if your other stats are good you just caught the eye of that battalion's cadre. If you do not get a national scholarship award you're on the radar of the battalion and you have a much better chance of getting a campus scholarship offer.

Just don't let them submit your APFT scores for the national scholarship application, while the PU and SU's will look fine, a 2 mile run time will only confuse them and make them think your really slow at the one mile run.
