Phone Call Time?

The USNA web site has information. http://usna.edu/PlebeSummer/info.htm. It says Sunday from 3-3:30pm EST. Can't wait to talk to our Plebe!
w/r/t the "designated phone call times"
There is a good possibility that your Plebe will actually call during the stated time window. HOWEVER, some Plebes will NOT call then. Some will call earlier or later on the same day. During our Mids' PS, a few called the next day. Lessons learned:
- Make sure that a real person is available at whatever number your Plebe is planning to call for more that just the announced time window.
- If the number is a cell phone, keep it turned on from now until you get "the call"
- Do NOT panic if your Plebe is one of the ones who calls later than the expected time. They really will call - eventually. If something bad had happened to them, you WOULD have been called, so no news just means - no news.
- There could be many reasons for the call being late. Some platoons' training schedules could prevent them from calling right on time. Some Mids are always standing watch, so those Plebes will have to call either before or after the assigned time, depending on the training schedule.

We also got the call at 3pm (actually 12 pm Pacific Standard time) We left church early so we wouldn't miss our plebe's call. It was great to hear from him. He talked about some of the funny things that have happened. Anyone else hear about Grenade?? DS said if someone drops their reef points or water bottle accidentally, the plebes standing nearby are supposed to yell "grenade!" and then they all jump on top of the fallen item. LOL
