Physical Fitness Assessment (BCA)

Yes, PEP is for a trimester. I believe you have to get up at 4 30 and just do some kind of physical activity, most likely running. The P/C's that dont really have a varsity sport, have to find time to get outside the barracks and exercise. Whether that is run on the track, or going to the pool or ohara

So, again, even as a Plebe or Plebe Candidate, after the first two week INDOC period, there is ZERO orgnaized phyisical activity?

Off topic...but, is there any further Regimental training? (marching, drilling, etc.)

Not to worry 2013parent

All the PC will be getting special attention from the upperclass Mids. Its called IT. That should help with your concern on physical conditioning.

So, just curious... to get the "ironman" score how many push-ups, sit-ups do you have to do in the amount of time given and what does your 1.5 running score have to be? Thanks!

Getting really anxious for parent weekend.....anyone else out their feeling the same way?

i believe that Iron Man is the maximum in every category. i.e somewhere along the lines of 95 pushups, 105 situps, and an 8:15 1 1/2 mile. im not 100% certain on those numbers (i wasnt even close) but theyre in the ballpark.

as for evening tatoo, yea, very much still in effect. basically, for anyone who isnt familiar, all the plebes muster down on 0 deck in their company areas with their CTO and CTO POs, and occasionally the CC. it can be anything from an informational briefing, with good and bad points brought up, or it can be an IT smoke session. it depends on how well weve done that day or week overall. more often than not, theres little/no IT, but about once a week they hit us hard. its not terrible, it sucks in the moment but its over in 20-30 min and it keeps us in shape.

Ironman is a perfect 300 score. To do this you must be able to max out in the three areas tested. The maxes are as followed: 92 pushups 109 situps and a 8:15 mile and a half. However, to recieve the service ribbon for the PFT you must score a 285 or higher. I barely got by with a 285. I maxed out on pushups and situps and ran a 9 07 mile and a half which gave me 85 points for my 285 final score.

Not that the push-up and sit-up tests were easy, but the stumbling block for most appears to be the 1.5 mile end of the test. Runners definitely have an advantage.

yeah the majority of people in pep are because they didnt run the 1.5 mile under the minimum time.
