no the new bsg takes place about 40 years after the origional show. same time as the miniseries tho. i'm pretty sure adama was a viper pilot in the 1st war. thanks for the links tho. too bad we won't be able to watch the new stuff for a while

Nope. That old war you are talking about is what the new show, Caprica, is about. The 1970s show is the same setting as the 2004 show. The miniseries of the 2004 show took place the same time as the old show and current show (or rather, just prior).
