    Hello,

Once the ac year starts, will the plebes get weekend liberty? What about this coming weekend? Also, when do they get their phones back?

    Thanks!

Plebes generally get liberty at the conclusion of Saturday Morning Training (SMT) until midnight (Saturday from noon - midnight). If they are on duty that weekend, you will not have liberty.

This coming weekend I'd imagine the 4/C would have briefs for the better part of Saturday. Liberty probably won't commence until about 1800.

Just curious, what do ya'll do exactly on Friday nights and on Sundays? Just trying to compare USNA to The Citadel, where except for Inspection Weekends, Event Weekends, and FTX weekends, everyone has leave from after Parade on Friday afternoon/evening until 0100 (much earlier for 4th class, as the year goes by they progressively earn later times to be back in the barracks). Saturday morning, the gates open at 0500 and again close at 0100. Sunday, leave is from 0500 until 1950. Not trying to hijack this thread at all, but what are those no-liberty portions of weekends consumed with?

    Absolutely nothing.
    Go Navy.
    ...

For plebes, Friday nights might come with media privileges, depending on how chill the CDO is. Friday night for 3/C is a lot more cynical because we can't leave our campus even though we're college sophomores.

Saturday Morning Training (SMT) may start anywhere from 0530 to 0800 for plebes and, in some not-chill companies, youngsters. SMT could be anything from doing PT to listening to a brief. Often times the training staff will put on a navy-related (or not-so navy-related) movie in the wardroom. Training staff is in charge of putting together SMT's, and 2/C can be, well, uncreative.

Sunday, Plebes can sleep in and do homework. Doors open at 1300. Youngsters can go out until 1800, and then liberty expires for all classes.

In my day, Friday nights were study nights.

For plebes, Sundays allowed you to sleep in and, if desired, attend church. Afternoons . . . working out, relaxing, studying, reading, calling friends and family. We didn't have TV privileges and there was no Internet, email, etc. Youngsters could watch TV in the wardroom.

Plebes should get there phones back tonight. They'll have liberty from 1800 until 2400 tomorrow, and unless they are on duty or there's a football game or other mandatory event, they'll have liberty from 1200 to 2400 every Saturday.

It was. Meaning the official end to Plebe Summer. Time depends on the company. However Plebes do have lights out at 11 pm, so if they haven't called or texted by then, you might have to wait until morning.

Probably Goat Court. Basically, 3rd and 4th wings are both set up as a big square. If you have one of the inner rooms with windows that face a big empty area, than your view consists of brick walls and windows. In most companies in 3rd and 4th wings, plebes have those rooms.
