Plebe Pillow Pugilists

When the SA leadership is under a microscope and being second guessed all the time, their only choice is to get rid of "all the fun tradition."

Agree 100% but one of the consequences is that these students won't have a release of stress that these traditions provide. And on top of that, the students will come up with new traditions to fill that need and who's to say those will be better.

I agree with others here punish the few make sure the upper class checks cases next year and pillow fight on!

Cadets and Midshipmen are at SAs to learn and train. No fun and no release of stress are allowed :bang:

And while they are at it, I wish they'd step up enforcement against theft! I have read so many stories of the cadets having their stuff stolen by other cadets. More needs to be done in this arena as well as worrying about what is in a pillowcase.

That is a serious comment as to imply that the honor code is not working.

I can say for me I might have lost things, but don't recall anything getting stolen my four years at West Point.

Lots of stuff came up missing at Buckner this summer, including cash. More than a few different victims. We don't know that it was cadets. Parents need to remember that there are big Army training cadre, contractors, civilians, etc. on post all the time.

I'm talking about things going 'missing' from cadets' rooms. Only other cadets have access to cadet bedrooms.

I am well aware that I am making a very serious comment and I am very grieved to have to do so.

I really don't think the pillow fight discussion is the place to do this. JMHO

Back to the pillow fight ...

I don't see what the problem is for future classes is - the solution is so simple.

The only way to make sure it is a PILLOW fight is to take JUST a PILLOW (no coverings at all). That way nothing can be stuffed inside.

Like boxing, pillow fighting is just too darned violent for today's Army. The irony.
