Here's a page that may be interesting for the incoming Class of 2017. While certain dates may not be current, the day's activities appear typical for each year. USNA's website has a wealth of knowledge and experience buried in it. There are some nuggets to be found. Congratulations to the Class of 2017 appointees!

Good post. Was amazed as a plebe and detailer both how many people came not having really learned the introductory rates (Mission of the Naval Academy, etc.). An easy way to get that Plebe Summer target on your back right away!

Every year there is a discussion on here about what you should/should not memorize before starting Plebe Summer. Any items they indicate in your PTR (permit to report) package that you SHOULD know ahead of time is common sense and one of the first steps to following orders. Those specific things MAY change from year to year so best to read the information you are provided ahead of time and follow whatever instructions are provided.

I'm pretty sure they made John Paul Jones memorize the Mission of the Naval Academy and the first three sentry orders . . .

Joking aside, it is true you'll need to read your own PTR package. The best thing about this being highlighted early is that anyone can benefit from reading about the 8 week workout program (and hopefully not wait until 8 weeks before I-Day to start getting into shape from scratch). Absent an injury that prevents training, it's inconceivable that you would report for any military basic training not in top shape, yet that too happens every year. And that makes Plebe Summer a lot longer and hotter and more miserable . . .

Has anyone seen a Class of 2017 Induction Day agenda? The one on the website is still Class of 2016.
