Plebe Summer

MIDNDAD: Second worst day:thumb: Daughter is now working with a great group of Marines. She likes her job and the dedicated people she works with. They had Thanksgiving at one of the Officers house's for those without family in the area. Sounded like they had a great time. We will see her Christmas day. Meetings are few and far between. The needs of the Navy/Marine Corps. You always remember the good and funny parts. Time heals all wounds.

Best advice for plebe summer I've ever heard is to take it day by day. The days are long but the weeks are short.

Everyone should at least stick with it through plebe summer. Emotions run high during the summer; everyone has the "WHY DID I DO THIS" moment (and it usually hits on I-Day +1). Wait until a few weeks into the academic year before you start thinking of resigning.

Like I have said before I now know what it was like for my parents during the Holiday season when I was ten thousand miles away with no skype or ovoo and trying to comunicate through HAM in the US. Just trying to have my mother say "over" was tough. Didn't seem like much for me then but it now strikes home with a child away during the Holidays. Plebe Summer is a no brainer without communication. You can't.. After the next four try the next five when they are deployed. You will get a lot better communication with them during the last three at the Academy. Set up the Skype or Ovoo right away.
