It depends on the company. Ours was given 3 minutes to make choices, then assignments were made.

Yes they (edit: my DS's Company) had a wish list. My DS had to advise who he wanted to room with as well as who he would rather not.

Varies by company. Things at this point will be very company dependent. Some got to pick, others got assigned, some are a mix, some will switch at the semester.

DS mentioned during PPW that he was able to select roommates. By chance we were able to meet one of his roommates while passing thru Bancroft Hall.

I assume Plebe Summer mailing address is no longer valid?

This is correct. The regular mailing address should be of the form:

    MIDN 4/C <last name>
    1 Wilson Rd., #<box number>
    USNA
    Annapolis, MD 21412

Thanks CatChaser. DS called and said he got the key to his mailbox (?), but didn't know much more, still has a stuffy nose and a bit foggy.

They are regular post office boxes. The address CatChaser posted is new to me. Might want to double check that with your kids. It's usually a standard PO Box type address. Googled a few parent's clubs and it had a different format, but maybe it has changed. Upperclass parents, can you confirm?

What CatChaser posted is correct but you don't need the USNA anywhere in the address so should look like the below:

    MIDN 4/C <last name>
    1 Wilson Rd., #<box number>
    Annapolis, MD 21412

With this address format you can send anything and have no issues like you sometimes have with PO Box addresses.

    My mailing address is,

    MIDN X
    1 Wilson Rd. P. O. BOX <Box Number>
    Annapolis, MD 21412

This is what I was given as my address after plebe summer and have not been told of any change or alternative correct ways to write it.

We just have to know everything dont we?
Not sure why a parent would ask this on the forum. Wouldn't the best, most accurate answer come from your plebe?

Also, I remember last year someone sharing that if addressing packages to your mid, or having packages coming directly from online sources, leave "P.O" off the address. Simply write #12345, for example. I have sent packages and letters this way with no problems. Apparently some some e-tailers will not deliver if the address is a post office box.
