Hello all,
I've been checking my Candidate Portal daily for the last month or so and haven't seen anything but this "Initial Evaluation Pending" message. I just emailed my Congressional District Coordinator explaining the issue but I also wanted to go on here to see if I could get a quicker response. Any insight someone can give me would be very much appreciated.

Depends on what you put on your Candidate Questionnaire. If you don't meet the threshold, they aren't going to open the rest of your application.

Chances are, it is your test scores, so you best plan to take the ACT in September and the SAT in October.

you might want to wait for an official response because a mom posted the other day that her sons portal didn't open yet and it did end up opening later that night

So unless you're test scores or gpa are truly not up to par you should just wait until you here something

That was me. I knew my son was probably competitive, since his portal had opened at AFA and USNA...that's why I pushed it. If you know you have good scores, perhaps you should contact your RC via email and ask him/her to take a look at it.

We also contacted our RC via e-mail and were told if it did not open in a few days to let them know. We found that contacting the Regional Technician (I think that is what she is called) yields the quickest response. You can find yours on the West Point website, by clicking on your region.

Just to clarify, my son's situation was not an error; more likely it just hadn't happened yet...it's a very busy time at West Point.
