I know once you go to the academy they issue you a computer but you need your own for the prep school. What kind of computers to people tend to get for NMMI or MMI for the year that they are there.

get a laptop. something you can take back and forth to home. as long as it has the Office suite you will be fine.
There should be information on each school's website. Don't forget to bring an ethernet cable.

Yeah I was planning on getting a laptop. I'm just not sure on any specifications besides office suite I should get on it. Like if it should be some cheap one that doesn't need much other stuff on it.

MDtrack and I were wondering if it would be worth it to invest in the current computer that the 4/c have at CGA (our intended acdemy), for our computer at prep school, or if just buying a little cheap one would do for a year, and get the latest model as a 4/c :thumb:

My son is currently at prep school at MMI. We just purchased a middle of the road HP laptop for him. It did have MS office. He was required to do some Powerpoint presentations for one of his classes at prep school, so that might be needed.

My younger son will "inherit" the "old laptop" when he goes to USAFA this June, so we didn't try to buy the same model.
