I just received a NROTC scholarship, but I had spondylosis from wrestling about a year and a half ago. Fracture of L5 on the right side. I had a brace for the first two months and have done my physical therapy. The fracture hasn't filled with bone and probably will not, but I am pain free and can exercise vigorously. Swimming and diving aren't issues either, I completed a few scuba certifications with this and had no issues at all. Based on what I have read here, I am anticipating that I will get DQ'd immediately; is there anything I can do now to help improve my chances of getting a waiver?
Important: I have not had my medical eval by DoDMERB yet but have filled out the medical history forms. Is there anything I should do in preparation for the eval that would help?
I have already been accepted to VMI where my scholarship is placed.
Anyone who has experience with this: what helped you get a waiver?
Any help is really appreciated, thanks.
