My dad is retired U.S. Army, thus, I am eligible for a Presidential Nomination.

I am going to fill out the nomination request, and it wants me to check any boxes that apply to my father.

Does this mean U.S. Army Reserve or U.S. Army Retired --------------------------> USAR (ARPC Form 249-2-E) <----------------------------------------

Also, it wants me to furnish my dad's retirement orders. I assume that is referring to his DD-214. Is that correct?

Last, after completing the form, would I scan the discharge paperwork, and email them both to admissions? Or would I mail them?

Very Respectfully,

You have to mail in the retirement paperwork as well as the form provided on the usma website. It gives instruction in the portal under nominations

IZ: nominations, to include service connected nominations, were due to WP NLT 31 January. They won't accept your request for 2018.

Also, must the request be sent between a certain date? Or can I send it in any time before January 21st, as in today?

For 2019: Presidential for a retired service member is OK now. Parent on active duty with at least the last 8 years on active, OK now. NG/reserve with at least 2880 pts, OK now. Any of the enlisted, 100% Disabled/deceased veteran, Medal of Honor winner nominations OK now.

The one service connected nomination that has to wait until 1 September to submit is for ROTC because you must be currently enrolled in the course.
