Hello all:

My congressman's interviews are held on January 11th. He is also one of the congressmen who chooses a principal nominee. Is it out of line to declare an intent for a principal nomination to an academy during the interview? I'm afraid that if I do not, they will not notice my tenacity for it.

Thanks!

No. It would just make you look presumptuous. Don't try to use big words either. You won't impress anybody that way. Be honest. Be yourself. Show them why you are worthy of a nomination.

+1 to lillian

Additionally, during the interview process they will be able to see your desires/intentions.

I would also add that just because in yrs past the MOC gave a principal, it doesn't mean they will this yr. The MOC's can change their nom. method every yr.
~~ For example, in the past they may have felt there was a clear cut principal, but for this yr. they may feel they have multiple candidates that are equally worthy of a principal. They may say let the SA decide using the WCS and a competitive slate.

It is better to demonstrate why you're the best candidate . . . that is the person who will receive the principal nom, assuming the MOC gives one this year.
