Do any BGOs on this forum know how many MOCs actually do a principal nomination?

I'm an ALO, not a BGO, but any moc who does a Principal nomination, probably does it for all their nominations the various academies.

But to answer your question; no, I don't know. Nor do I believe that anyone really knows. I know that it's not many. But "Not Many" is a relative term. There are 535 representatives and senators. So if 10% (53) did, that would seem like "Not many". However; if your senator or representative DOES do principal nominations, then that's all that matters. it doesn't matter what another state's does.

No. As a BGO, I don't even know if the MOCs in my state/district do them. I could probably find out by calling. Honestly, outside of my region, I don't care. And I don't really care much about those in my region as it's something completely out of my control.

Note that MOCs can (probably don't) handle things differently for different SAs and they can change their approach year-to-year.

The above said, USNA has stated that "most" do competitive slates -- no principal noms or ranked slates.
