Hey,

I received a nomination from my congressman. People in the forum have been indicating that they got principle nominations? How do I know I got a principle nomination?

If I ask my ALO would he be able to tell me or would I have to call the academy itself?

Thanks

Easiest thing to do is to call back to your MOC's assistant. The one who set up the interview. THANK THEM and let them know you really appreciated being considered. And thank them for assisting in the nomination. Then say; "Oh by the way, there's so much info out there about different types of nominations. Some people mentioned principle nominations and other types. Could you tell me if I received a principle nomination or what type?"

I know it sounds a little under the table, but you're simply inquiring about their nomination process. As mentioned numerous times, each MOC has the ability to have a little different method in some areas. They may tell you that they don't do principle nominations. They may tell you that you were #4. Won't know if you don't ask. You still may not know, but it can't hurt to ask. later... mike....

Thank you for the advice ill let you know how i goes even though I didn't have a interview. I will call them tomorrow.

Any more advice about the principle nomination?

The vast majority of MOC's use the competitive method. Sometimes they will state which method they use on their website and/or on the application, so you could look there.

This is really something that is not in your control - so I wouldn't spend a lot of time worrying about it.

I am with JAM.

First they have made their decision. Second even if a principal is given out, it doesn't mean that the cadet will accept the appt...they might have gotten a principal to another SA from another MOC and elect to take that appt, meaning it is a whole new ball game.

As hard as it is to sit on your hands I can guarantee a few things.

1. You will not die from the wait although it feels like it right now:frown:
2. The ball is really in the AFA's court, all you can do is keep updating your app before Mar.1.
3. If this wait is killing you, just think about the next 6-10 weeks, before you find out officially. Especially when you see appts coming down. Don't fear it is a giant puzzle they are making without knowing what the picture looks like...it takes a while to get every piece in the right place.
4. Do you know what they call the 1st candidate that gets an appt? Cadet! Do you know what they call the last candidate that gets the night before I-DAY? CADET:shake:
5.You will have a wonderful successful career in the AF whether or not you get an apptmt as long as you want it.

Good luck...go study
