Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone else if having problems logging on to the NROTC Scholarship website and checking the status of their scholarship. When I try to even get onto the website, it says my internet connection is down. While some may say that it could actually just be my internet connection, I know for 100% sure that isn't the case, as this problem isn't just occuring on my personal computer, but also on any smartphones, library computers, and school computers I attempt to log on to so I can check my scholarship status (my scholarship was completed and submitted around early November or so. I'm DYING to find out about the scholarship, and the fact that the website isn't loading is killing me. Does anyone know another way to check the scholarship status other than through the DoDMERB, as I'm not applying to a military academy. Thanks for your help everyone! :)

use a different browser like firefox. this is a known, recent problem. If you do a search you will see threads on this over the past couple of weeks. It's not you, it's THEM

I've used Firefox and Internet Explorer and still nothing... :frown: I JUST WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP! While I really have no complaints about the Navy, I've got to say the only thing I cannot stand about them is the fact that they don't release the scholarship selection board dates to the public...! :( Oh the secrecy.... :/

I just logged on and it's working as normal. Still says "No decision has been made on your application." Grrrrrrr.

I'm DYING...
.. the website isn't loading is killing me.
The NROTC will send you a letter if you are awarded a scholarship. If after all the boards you are not selected you will also receive a letter.
No need to DIE if the technical aspects of signing onto the NROTC site is too large an obstacle. Good Luck!

@ Patentesq- when did you send in your application?

This is actually for my DS. The application was sent roughly around 11/15/10 (high school took forever to get transcripts together). The recruiting office made it seem like it would only be a few days before we heard -- HA!!

I'm starting to think that www.serviceacademyforums.com should come with a surgeon general warning, advising users that logging on to this website "may be hazardous to your [mental] health"! Maybe there should also be a disclosure that, in laboratory experiments, some concerned parents -- who previously were model citizens -- have been observed to engage in very irrational behavior after logging onto www.serviceacademyforums.com, such as accosting their local mailman and demanding large packets NOW from a certain service academy!!

That's EXACTLY how my recruiting office made it seem! They told me "Yeah, Olivia, it should be about 2 to 3 weeks until you find out about your scholarship!" Pshhh, yeah right! It's been about 2 months now and I'm still waiting for a reply. But I really do feel like this website should come with a warning sign- I'm so addicted to checking this website in hopes that someone posted something about hearing back from the committee. Not to mention the fact that now that the website won't post my status, I'm basically interrogating the lady who brings my family's mail everyday, asking about if she has a letter from the Navy for me or not... Oh the things we scholarship applicants (and parents it sounds like too...) do to find out about our scholarships and appointments to military academies....

Ha ha ha. Now this was funny and so true. lol

I want to say, I will come on here and let everyone know when a good time to check the website is. But then I know that it will just make you check these forums more, so it would not really help the website checking addiction.

My DS had his NROTC app in by August and still has not heard a word. It is definitely a patience trying process!
