So how does this process work? WP says that YOU have to set up an appointment but I went to dodmerb's website to make a new account and it says that my app hasn't been added to the system? (I'm applying to the SAs+ROTC)

Any insight or past experience please? Thank you :thumb:

When the sources (SA/ROTC) deem you competitive enough they will request DoDMERB to add your name to the system. You will than get a snail mail letter telling you the DoDMERB docs you have been assigned to take the exam with. If you are military you can contact DoDMERB and ask to use your military doc.

Where in the process to ROTC only applicants get there Dodmerb triggered?
DS met for informal interview last wk at one if top choice school and they encouraged him to move on that but to my knowledge this hasn't been triggered. All that is left is formal interview in two wks.

Typically, it is when the application has been completed, including the interview. I don't know how many kids open an AFROTC scholarship application, but typically only 5K are boarded. 900 awarded. If an exam costs 100 bucks a pop., that is $400,000 more spent from the AF budget.

Additionally, the DoD budget constraints have placed havoc on the system. It is now them playing chicken because whichever source requests the exam, will be charged with the cost of the exam. However, every source can use the results.

I.E. apply for all ROTC scholarships.
~~~ They may wait longer to see if the candidate gets a request from another branch.
If you are an ROTC canidate only DoDMERB will not be in the picture until you are awarded a scholarship. Once you are a scholarship winner then ROTC will contact DoDMERB to start the medical process. If you apply to a SA and they deem you cometitive then they will notify DoDMERB and DoDMERB will then contact you. Best of luck.
