Hello! Just reaching out and hoping to get to know my fellow potential Plebes. How is everyone's application/status looking? The holidays definitely put a damper on snail mail and I can't imagine the blizzard has helped much either.
I've already received and accepted my appointment and will be joining the track team next year.
I wish you all the best!

New Jersey. I had an LOA and my Nom in December and the BFE came shortly after. I actually heard about my appointment from the Congressman before the BFE arrived. However, I have heard from someone that they received their appointment (through contacting the school) but the BFE had been delayed in the mail because of the holidays. I'm sure you'll hear back soon! Where are you all from?

Hey. I'm from NJ as well. I've been fully accepted, but I'm just waiting on the paperwork.

DD just got a FedEx from USMMA admissions. Her status changed last week to principal fully qualified. She's at swim practice and won't be home until later. Look forward to seeing the excitement!

No paperwork yet, but Principal Fully Qualified and a phone call to them confirming that I got it! I'm from Colorado/Wyoming and plan to take a trimester, at least, away from extracurriculars after my experience in my first year in college.

Do you mean at KP? I gotta tell you that you might want to rethink that. I was on some kind of team or club all year while I was there. Even that first (quarter in my day) I was on the sailing team. It was good to get away from the BS, especially early in Plebe year. . . . just sayin' . . .

DS just signed his acceptance today. Very excited. Mostly because now we can breath and we know he will have a place to go next year. Whew!

I agree with cmakin. You need something to use an escape from the grind when you can't go off campus and do your own thing without being on a Team Movement (TM).

There a lot of shiny new things that seem like the coolest thing ever, especially to those who think becoming the Pride of the Regiment is their pathway to a Navy Flight slot, just dont get wrapped up in too many things. The Regimental system can be a valuable asset to your personal and professional growth, just don't let it overwhelm your grades.

Good advice. My DD was recruited to play volleyball at West Point. But after looking at the program and realizing D1 athletics would just add to the stress at school, DD opted to apply to KP instead. There volleyball will be more of a stress reliever than adding to it. Definitely have to look for things that will make you happy and de-stress.

Yup. . . I despised the regimental system while I was there and a few years after. . . until I realized that it did have several purposes, least of which was weeding out those that don't really want to be a mariner (including those mentioned above). . . and later, when I was chest deep in bilge water with the odd bit of sewage floating around, opening the drain plug on my failed gearbox. . . hell, it was still easier than some of that crap from Plebe year. . . . .
