Upon arrival, what are the consequences for not passing the PRT? TRUST ME I do not plan on failing, I'm working really hard to improve my run time to a solid 7-minute mile. I just want to know what to expect if anything happens.

Thanks!

PRT is at the end. If you fail, PT remedials for you

Haha, though this is the feeling of any mid, it's not the end. If you fail, you get put on what's called "Brigade Remedial" workouts which is every morning at 5:30 am or something with everyone else that failed the PRT and it's mandatory that you attend. You have to keep going to these workouts until you are able to pass the PRT. And once you do, the highest your grade can be awarded for the PRT is a 'D' (I think, not sure). Though if you fail the PRT 3 times over the course of your time at the academy, you can be put up for separation from the academy if the Commandant doesn't believe you've shown effort in trying to improve or taken initiative to get better.

Moral of the Story, don't fail the PRT.

They have more then enough on I-Day then to do PRT. It will be done during Plebe Summer.

So a PRT is not administered to midshipmen on I-Day?

The first test you take over Plebe Summer is the Initial Strength Test (IST). This is a non-graded test to help both you and the Navy see where everyone is at. (No consequences for failing it). The first time you'll take the PRT is right before the end of Plebe Summer and Reform of the Brigade. For us, it was right after Plebe Parent Weekend.
