So they are not doing a PT test at CLC? Our son just graduated and will be commissioned at the end of CLC. Doesn't he have to take it? I keep reading posts that there is not PT test because of the heat??

I believe they will just use the two recorded APFTs that were given at his battalion, unless there is some special provision for the End of Camp Commissions.

OK thank you--so you haven't heard about end of camp commissions?

There is no APFT at CLC. Did he take a "commissioning" APFT right before graduation with the other MSIV's?

You have to take an APFT within 90 days of commissioning, so if he took one at school before graduating he's good. I bet he probably did along with all the other seniors

Well he took the end of year record PT--the whole battalion did... It was towards the end of April. He couldn't go to LDAC last year so that's why he will get commissioned at the end of camp.

He's good then.

Thanks--hopefully all goes well... He is on a waiver for his shoulder and has been cleared but you never know!

If he's got a waiver then he shouldn't need to worry. I got a couple waivers throughout ROTC for knee injuries and as long as you show you're healed and good to go there's usually no problems. Congrats to him on commissioning. What branch is he?

Well he will worry anyway... He said the physical is tomorrow. He will be in the Reserves and will go to law school in August. Not sure exactly what his job will be in the Reserves.

Heard from a APMS that is at CLC that End of Camp Commissionees will be taking an APFT prior to commissioning. Take tthis as just another source, I guess they will find out when they are there.

I can believe that.

Could be just me and I felt this way for 29 years while working for the police department but 22 & 23 year olds that are going to be in the military and leaders on top of that should be able to pass the APFT (7) days a week with 10 minutes notice.
