Awhile ago I saw a thread discussing plebes hanging state flags in their rooms. We have one, but I'm not sure if this still being done. If so, can DS take the flag durign indoc, or do we wait until parents' weekend?

We took the state flag with us to PW for DS in 2009. He was able to hang it in his room. It now hangs in his bedroom since he is B split and has been out to sea save 1 trimester.

DS had our flag in his bag when he arrived for indoc. He put it up as soon as he was able.

I didn't see anywhere that they are needed for Indoc. But I did read that they may be needed for Parents Weekend. Amazon has them for about $7.00 with free shipping.

Thanks all -- we ended up giving him the flag last night. It's very special because it was flown over our state capitol in honor of a good friend who was a state senator. DS was very moved that the our friend had given him the flag, and he'll be bringing it with him to indoc :thumb:

Could some one help me locate...

Hey KP family and friends could someone help me locate a place on the internet to buy my DS a State Flag for our state? I've been looking for 3 1/2 years since we dropped him off for indoc and can't locate one. Seen lots of other flag places but none seems to carry our home state's flag - we live in the State of Confusion.... just sayin'

I was going to say to contact your governor's office and they will fly it over the capitol for you but being you are from the State of Confusion, I think you have to design your own flag. LOL:biggrin:

In our state it's done through the governor's office too (I believe through the public liaison rep). There used to be a program where they would provide the flag and fly it for you for free, but now you pay for both the flag and the privilege of having it flown. They provide the flag though. I found our state rep's office to be the most helpful -- that's how I found out who to contact at the governor's office.
