Just wondering if anybody has any insight as to what happens to your candidate file/portal if you receive a QNS letter?

My portal is still up and I received the QNS Saturday.

I'm assuming it stays up until the next class starts applying.

I have just emailed Admissions asking this question. I will post their answer when I get a reply. My portal is also still open.

The portal will remain open even after receipt of the QNS. Nothing changes in it to indicate that you have received the rejection letter.

DS requested of his admission officer that his file be "reestablished" in June of last year so that he could begin working on reapplying for this year. When that happens you will see the red Xs appear and you have to get them to green checks again. He also kept the same candidate number. I am not sure if the file will remain open indefinitely.

You will also have to be DODMERB qualified again...if it has only been one year then that process is simple. Once your file is "reestablished" you will receive the paperwork in the mail automatically. You have to fill out the paperwork updating your medical status since the last full physical and send it in.

I hope this helps.

What color envelope did the QNS letter come in?

I just received an 8.5" X 11 tan envelope in the mail from West Point. I won't open it until DS gets home.

yeah...I'm a bit curious.

edit: Peled a shipping label back, and it is from West Point Association of Graduates. False alarm? Indicator of things to come? They really know how to test our commitment to our son's privacy...

Hmmm...the civil prep scholarships are offered through the AoG. Could be good news!

Flyboy, can I ask what state you're in? Because I'm in CA and I just got that same civil prep offer yesterday. Still hoping for 2016 though!

I went through this process in 1980. My mother treated mail in our home as hers. She never looked at the first name on the package/envelope. :)
