I think I may be speaking for many applicants who have received the letter from admissions stating they were qualified. Does anyone know the usual percent of those qualified applicants that are accepted?

I'm pretty sure the breakdown was posted somewhere in the acceptance thread.

If I remember correctly, between 3,000 and 4,000 are "qualified" for about 1,100 slots

Hang in there....

You’re in a tough spot. Again, its been said to work on Plan B and C at the same time as Plan A. Now is the time to re evaluate your goals. If in your heart of hearts West Point is the place you want to be, re apply. However, you need to improve ACT/SAT scores and demonstrate you can handle the college level academics. So last year there were 1183 that went to the Class of 2016. 2629 applicants were 3QD with a Nom. There were aprox 1300 +/- left on the NWL who later received a QNS letter. Class of 2017 should be similar. My personal guess-timation 800 to 900 offers have gone out. At this stage in the process I would move forward with Plan B and C. If an offer does come you can do the happy dance. But move forward with you goals, plans and life.

I’m sorry.

I would agree with the info provided by Tugboat. If you interested in some additional speculation about how many more appointments might be dropped in mail before it is over here it is:

A Assume 800 appointments have been mailed, and 88% of those will accept (this was the percentage from Class of 2016)

B. There will be 190 +/- students transferring in from MAPS to the Class of 2017

800*.88= 704 + 190 (MAPS)= 894 Appointments allocated

1200 (class size) - 894= 306/.88 = 347 Appointments

So somewhere between 300-350 are currently in process and are yet to be mailed.

If you are watching WP Admissions Facebook, expect a slow down in the number of weekly mailings as everyone who is receiving an appoinment has 45 days to respond. In this environment, Admissions does not want to exceed the current class size projection.

As Tugboat stated have Plan B,C &D in place.
