I can't tell you how much of a difference it would mean number wise but I would recommend that you do the optional essay. It shows you are willing to do more than the bare minimum and it is also an opportunity to tell Admissions something about yourself that was not covered in the required essays. If you're looking to be done for Early Action, it would probably be best not to submit the essay if you have not already started it. It would be rushed and not at the level you know you are capable of. Hope this helps somewhat and good luck! :smile:
