If you get accepted to a prep school, does that mean you automatically became a 4th class the following year if you do well, or do you need to re -apply and get a new nomination?

You need to re-apply, but it's a rare occurrence that someone from a Prep School doesn't get in (and it's your fault if you don't.)

Heres exactly the words of my acceptance letter to the USAFA preparatory school.

"Congratulations! On behalf of the superintendent, I am pleased to announce that you have been accepted for admission to the United States Air Force Academy Preparatory School. This ten-month assignment is designed to improve your academic abilities, and along with physical and military preparation, enhance your ability to compete for an Academy appointment.

Although attending the Preparatory School does not guarantee an appointment to the Academy, many of our best cadets have come from this program and I hope you will follow in their footsteps. "

^What Arizona said is similar to what it says on Falcon Foundation scholarship letters. Basically, you need to be nominated again and reapply however the application is more streamlined than the original one (at least for FF)

I am a USMMA Sponsored Prep and I have been told that my application will be pretty simple to complete because while attending NMMI for prep school, I will have an advisor to assist me with that. I just had to reapply for my nominations (Recommend doing before leaving for prep school). Other than that, I just have to excel in my classes and the spot is there. (as a SPONSORED prep)
