Hello all,

Sorry to bother you. I have two very quick questions. When you elect to send scores to schools (after you have already taken the test and the score report is available) how long does it take for these reports to reach the academies? Just curious. Also, are the scores sent via e-mail or snail mail?

Thank you.

They have their own system for sending scores. Similar to email. Happens pretty quick.

And I presume it takes them a few days or weeks to add it to your portal? Thanks again!

For my DD it was pretty quick, she'd get an email that her score was available from ACT, it it was on her USNA portal within a couple/few days.

Edit - I have no idea how ACT sent scores to USNA, I assume electronically since it was speedy.

As I requested that ACT send the scores on May 2nd and my portal hasn't updated. Should I be worried? Thanks. (Only a bit worried as you said your daughters scores were sent very quickly.

Thanks again!

Ah, young grasshopper, you soon will come to appreciate the oft-quoted "hurry up and wait . . ." as you navigate your way through the SA application process. Relax, your scores will show up within the next couple of weeks. Turn your attention to preparing for your finals and ace those exams.

It's a marathon, not a sprint, especially in May.

In my DDs case, it was arranged before the tests to have scores sent to USNA. It may take a little longer if you're sending the scores separately, since it takes time for ACT to send them and then for USNA to enter them. They will eventually show up!

This was a great question for me, because according to the College Board they sent all my requested scores to the places on 5/3. Of course that was before OC email, so that actually may be part of the reason for his acceptance as a candidate. So we hurry and wait, lol

Just a heads up. According to the Naval Academy's website, it says, "Due to networking issues we are unable to update ACT/SAT test scores to records at this time. Our technical staff are currently working to resolve this issue. We appreciate your patience concerning this matter".
