There is a nice video documenting Plebe summer at this address on the Navy TV website: http://www.navytv.org/media.cfm?c=636&m=2715&s=59&
About 1/3 into the video they show the class getting sworn in. The Superintendent says "now will rest of the great class of 2013 please rise." You can see one Plebe is already standing. Why is one standing up first? Was he the first one in line that morning or is he the youngest member of the class or someone else? Just curious and figured one of you parents who were there could clue me in. Thanks!

Well, we were there, but cannot recall. Hubby and I both remember the Supe calling out one plebe to be first, but do not remember why. Slept since then, I guess!

We are curious now, too.

Correct

SeekingKnowledge is correct the international students stood up and had a seperate oath first. Already seems like years ago.

Concur. You probably only see one on the video but there are several.
