My ds put in the online application the same person for two items - his guidance counselor - for both the Candidate Activities Record and the Candidate Academic Information.

When the guidance counselor verified the CAR, DS got an email. When the english teacher submitted the recommendation, he got an email.

He asked the guidance counselor to do the Academic Info, and was told " We received confirmation ( meaning the guidance office received from USNA in some manner) that USNA has received my original report ( with Counselor comments + transcript + an additional letter from me)

I know the registrar "snailmailed' the transcript, so this leads me to believe that the counselor comments and letter were sent that way as well.

This was a week ago. Neither the transcript shows received nor the Academic Information on the portal.

Would the Academic Information be like the CAR and the english teacher rec, and need to be done online and would also generate an email saying it had been submitted as well?

I am not sure if the GC has it straight, but he thinks he is complete. The portal says waiting for submission. I called the Admissions office but was only able to leave a voicemail.

I can't bug the GC any more until I get it straight on whether the Academic Info is something he could have snailmailed in.

Thanks for any information to help me clear this up.

Yes, the candidate academic record is an online form. If it doesn't show received on your son's CIS, then it has not been received. I'd recommend providing USNA's Admission Office number to the Guidance Counselor in case they need help.

This happened to one of my candidates and I was able to call the Guidance Counselor, stayed on the phone while she re-submitted the form. The issue ended up being that the form either takes a specific class rank (i.e. X of Y) or a percentage tier (i.e. top 5%, top 10%, etc.) -- but BOTH cannot be submitted. Until the Guidance Counselor sees the CIS say the form has been received, it hasn't. Additionally, all online forms are realtime, meaning as soon as it is submitted, it is reflected on the CIS and BGO system.

Lastly, I recommend your son being the one to follow up with the Guidance Counselor, Admissions, and the BGO.

Thanks for the good info. It is as I thought but needed confirmation.

I appreciate what you say about the followup and normally ds does all the work but he just had his wisdom teeth out and is out of commission for a bit with pain and percocet.
