R-Day Countdown

Thanks to everyone for all the wonderful advice concerning the passport. I feel much better now.

One month...I can't believe it! How come when son was waiting to hear, the days seemed to pass so slowly and now they are flying by???

He is so ready to be there...I, on the other hand, can't fathom that when we drop him off on R-day, we probably won't see him again until October!

Swab summer went by in the blink of an eye as well...and that first phone call home was priceless. I get chills just remembering the pride and excitement in his voice.

You guys are in for a great ride! :thumb:

Funny how it was only a year ago plus a few days the 2/c's were Swabs finishing up a long hard year and now they are blood thirsty cadre. If only the Swabs-to-be could put that into perspective.

2014 Listserve is online

Listserve for class of 2014 is now online @ USCGA Parents Association Website. 26 days

20 DAYS!!! Just realized this a couple of minutes ago!!

Is it just me or are there any other parents out there who are waking up, out of sound sleep in the middle of the night, thinking about R-day? I have never had an anxiety attack, but I'm starting to think I might know what they feel like!!!!!

Sounds about right!

For me, the days immediately prior to R-Day were, by far, much worse than the actual day.

Just breathe....your child is days away from starting an amazing journey into adulthood. He/she will be surrounded by other great kids, and together they will make it through swab summer, and 4/c year!

As an anxious mom of an incoming Swab, I prefer the way fairwinds announces the countdown....much more subtle. I am in a fragile state of mind right now!!!

Proud mom, Class of 2014

And we thought this would get easier the 2nd go around. NOT!!
What we do know is that the end result is worth the next 4 years on the ultimate roller coaster ride :thumb:

We just got back from hiking the Sierra's, and we saw the countdown. Whoa!

Feeling the time slip away

We are back in the states now and working our way towards New London. Time really flys by when road tripping. We are enjoying every moment we can with our cadet before the 28th creeps up on us. See you all soon!

Whew!
