R-Day SAF Dinner 2011

Right now we are planning on dinner starting around 6, but ill be there around 530.

The cost should be around $25 dollars per person, give or take a couple dollars. Looking forward to seeing you all there.
 
"R" Day Weekend Event

Just a quick note to let everyone know that this year there will be a large Street Fair held in town on Sunday June 26th. We will also be having entertainment at 3pm which will be an Elvis Review. We hope everyone will attend.

Ok everyone, the menu is set and everything is looking good for the dinner. We right now have 39 people confirmed and we are allowed to have up to 50, so if there's any more takers we'd love to have you.

The actual cost of the meal should be around $30, now that the menu is confirmed. We are looking at a couple of appetizers, the house salad, Painter's pasta, sherry mushroom chicken, sauteed seasoned vegetables, and mashed potatoes.

Me too. Last year's group said it was great so hopefully it will again this year as well
 
The food at Painters is very good. It's a much better venue than the Thayer. The opportunity to meet some of your classmates - and possibly even members of your company - is terrific. You'll all appreciate a familiar face the next morning.:eek:
 
What a great idea! Enjoy! Nice chance to meet your future classmates in a more relaxed setting. :thumb:
 
Welcome Reception

One other bit of information for June 26...

There is a Welcome Reception being hosted by Vision, a Highland Falls organization that traditionally hosts the reception for new cadets and parents on the day before R-Day. It will be held at the Thayer Hotel from 2-5PM. Cookies, lemonade, ice tea, and water will be served. Over 700 people attended last year.

I received this in an e-mail from our West Point Parents Club and thought I'd pass it on for anyone interested!

Only 19 more days until R-day!
 
R Day dinner was a success! Great food at Painter's and a great atmosphere among all of us soon-to-be new cadets and parents. Definitely recommended to 2016!
