    Woo-hoo, Bruno!

One of the things that made me feel at home as a young USMC officer was how many others were (at the time frustrated) Boston sports fans. When I heard those distinctive "Southie" accents I always knew I'd find common ground, regardless of rank, commiserating over the Sawx or Pats or Celts (post-Bird) or blankety-blank Ulf Samuelsson who injured Cam Neeley. It's been quite a decade!

Hard to believe that of all the Boston major sports teams, the Patriots have now gone the longest without a Championship.

    Bruins - 2011
    Celtics - 2008
    Red Sox - 2007
    Patriots - 2005

Congrats to the Bruins, but it is sad that on the morning news they spent more time discussing the riots that occurred over the victory.

I never got the Mob Mentality. Overturning cars and stomping on them because a sports team won seems insane! I don't get it, but than again I don't get Bullet when he yells at the tv over a game. My common phrase is: "Honey, you do realize the coach can't hear you through the tv, right?" I guess it is a guy thing!

No- you have it wrong- the riots occurred in Vancouver over the loss not in Boston over the win

My bad, the news stated Bruins won and went straight into the overturned cars, so I guess I assumed it was them. Let's be honest, that isn't a leap, it happens all the time. Again, something I just don't get! Chick thing!

The mayor in Boston wouldn't let the bars/taverns stay open later than normal to serve alcohol last night in the case of a Bruins victory precisely for the reason that they wanted to keep people off the streets late at night (end of the game was 11'ish here on the East Coast). That was something some people around here were complaining about as bars here close notriously early compared other places around the country, but I don't think there will be that many people complaining since the Bruins won :D

Hockey is Canada's sport. I'm not surprised they were unhappy. Unfortunately living as close to Vancouver as I do, my family are Canucks fans. Needless to say, we weren't too happy that night either. Fortunately though, our rage was withheld to endless yelling at the TV all game. No overturned cars

Going on what, 17, 18 years now? They should rename it "America's Cup."

I'm no real Boston Bruins fan (I'm a Nashville Predators fan since day 1), but I'm very happy to see that a-hole Ryan Kesler and the Vancouver Canucks lose.

Boston was crazy today, if you didn't see the parade. 1 Million people were at the parade. NH was pretty excited too. It was a great series and fun to see Tim Thomas shut those Canadians out!

The Boston Globe said 1.5Million people  were watching as the Bruins paraded the Stanley Cup on the back of a fleet of Duck Boats thru the City yesterday morning (I wasn't one of those out there watching though- No way was I going to get in the middle of that traffic jam afterwards!). Ahh - it's good to spend a couple of days not sweating politics, corrupt politicians, the economy or the weather in the most fanatical sports minded city in North America.

Son is a NJ Devils Fan at Mass Maritime and hates Boston. For me it is Rangers (born in the Bronx) It was a terrible week for him. Still have the old Whalers Jerseys but can't root for Carolina.

The {insert your preferred derogatory term here} in Vancouver weren't rioting because the Canucks lost, they were going to riot regardless of the outcome.
