Sadly got my rejection letter moments ago via portal update, but I'm not beaten just yet! So I have a couple questions regarding prep school offers. If I didn't get an offer with my rejection letter do I need to completely discard any hopes of getting in the prep school, or would they possibly notify me in a separate update or something? If not, I've got an ROTC scholarship to fall back on to go any where I want, and of course I want to reapply to the academy! If I can't get into the prep school, got any advice for a re-applicant that's in college ROTC? Appreciate any answers/advice!

For other of my fellow rejectees, don't despair! If you got in the race even with a rejection like me, then you're certainly capable enough to succeed in another route!

Very similar situation and questions here! Plan B as of now is Norwich University, but still hoping for Falcon Foundation or USAFAPS!

I posted this on the "Prep School Offer...Need Advice!!" thread, but I'll post here too.

I've mentioned my situation before, but I'll mention it again here. I'm currently a sophomore at a 4 yr university, just received my TWE today. Since attending UT, I've taken a fairly light course load but have maintained A's and B's. I'm taking a ton of science courses (both bios, both chemistries, chem lab, microbio, microbio lab, Differential Calc, stats) and some other courses. I think maybe my course load and definitely my SAT scores are what kept me from getting in to USAFA.

My main question is, however, with two years of college down, how would it look to USAFA or any other SA if I went to prep school for a year? I mostly think Prep School would be beneficial in preparing me with the proper course load, physically, and provide the best chances of being offered an appointment. The downside to prep is that I'm losing a year and gaining zero credit. I would technically be a junior as a student at the prep school. I'm not too concerned about my age in light of this whole process though, as I see more pros than cons in applying again and potentially attending a prep school.

Honestly, I have an enormous passion to serve at this time in my life via USAFA (as many of you are), and if that means going through a year of prep school to possibly get to a service academy, specifically USAFA, by all means I will do it. I don't plan to stay at UT next year regardless of if I go to a Prep school or not, anyways. I'm looking to transfer elsewhere, so the AFROTC program at UT is not really in the plan. To clarify, like many others on here, I have searched my heart and goals many times over, and I know that becoming an officer in the Air Force is something that I am motivated to pursue. I definitely didn't mention everything that I have thought over, in this post, as it would result in many many many paragraphs more, but I just covered the basis of what I've been considering.

    I appreciate any advice!

My DD's best friend received a TWE last year. A month later she was offered a Falcon Foundation Scholarship. I believe those are offered through the AOG (??)

Hey guys. Yeah, I'm still wondering whether or not I should wait for a potential prep school offer, or if they're completely done with me till I reapply in July. I'm guessing they're done with me but I'd really like to know for sure. Did a bit of research on my application and sought some advice and had people say that I'd most likely get a prep school offer if I was rejected. No luck on that though.

Put down a deposit on your plan B, but not a dollar more until Doolie day. If the day comes and you haven't heard anything, then you have a plan B in place. If you do hear good news, you'll be looking at 4-5 years of free college, losing a deposit won't be a big deal.

I was told I was overqualified for the Prep School with just one year of community college but they made an exception because I was prior-enlisted.

I have heard of people going: civilian prep -> USAFAPS -> USAFA but never two years of college -> USAFAPS t-> USAFA.
